Go to previous entry #75 - Go to next entry #77
Note: This is the 76th entry in the list and not the 76th Apple-1 produced. The Apple-1 does not have a regular serial number. Only some Apple-1 got a handwritten serial number.
eBay auction is no longer available at ebay.com
Modifications were performed on the board by the original owner (presumably for additional memory), involving cutting traces and running wires. Stamp on the back.
Bought probably in 1977 and kept for over 39 years in Dayton, Ohio, USA.
Sold in 2016 at an eBay auction for only US\$ 60,300. Low price due to the condition of the auction.
June 2016
(see History for more information)
White ceramic Synertek SY6502 CPU (7702), white ceramic MOS MCS 6520 PIA (0722), 8 KB plastic DRAM. Five blue and three yellow capacitors.
Original Apple Cassette Interface (NTI). Original Operation Manual, original Preliminary BASIC Manual. Apple-1 ad.
Board has been physically modified — traces have been cut and jumper wires run up to the breadboard area. Wires were added and cut at the switch board. Sockets were added at the breadboard. Wires were added on the back.
CPU and PIA are from ’77, so they were changed or added later. Some chips, like four 74S257, were added in 1993. Hole drilled at voltage regulator.
The low price may be due to the circumstances of the auction.
